Client Records

In order to arrange and tailor lessons to suit individual abilities, plan progress through development goals, book tests, and meet legal requirements we keep a personal paper record for each client. Your client record is available to view every lesson and will include your name, license details, address, phone number, test results, areas for improvement and any other information you agree to disclose which is relevant to your course of learning. We do not ask for personal banking information, though we still do accept cheques – in these cases no banking account information is retained after payment has cleared.

Third Parties

We promise your personal information will not be shown to any third parties (including parents*) unless you have specifically authorised this (e.g. Theory Test Pro, DVLA test booking service). If you change your mind you can opt out any time by contacting me in writing (letter or e-mail is fine).

Information Requests

If you would like to request a hard copy of your Client Record please let us know in writing and you will be either handed or posted a copy within 2 weeks free of charge.

Data Retention Period

Your Client Record is secured in locked storage when not in use and kept for 7 years before being confidentially destroyed on site. During this time you retain your legal right to request all data held relating to yourself to be completely and permanently destroyed. Please make all requests in writting.

Security

For practical reasons and to minimise the risk of cyber data theft we only keep one paper copy of your Client Record. No data storage facility is 100% reliable but rest assured we go to considerable lengths to keep your data safe. In the unlikely event your information is compromised you will be notified as soon as possible.

Website

Our website www.a1drivertraining.co.uk holds no personally identiable data relating to our site vistors.

Complaints about the management, security or handling of personal data should be made to Pete Cowan in the first instance. Once received we will investigate, take appropriate action and respond as soon as possible.
